Are you planning on using tax preparation software to file your taxes this year? Or are you going to take the risk of over paying by doing them yourself on paper or going to a tax professional? There are huge numbers of financial professionals that are stating that there are enormous numbers of taxpayers that are overpaying their taxes by hundreds of dollars.

Even the government itself is admitting that the countries taxpayers are over paying on their taxes. Even though they freely admit this it’s not likely that you are about to get a letter from your local tax office saying “whoops you paid more then you should have, here’s your money back.” So there are basically four ways to have your taxes done.

-Maybe they understand taxes better then you, then again perhaps not.

Use a professional service:

-This is can end up costing you a hefty chunk of money. Some places charge upwards of $200 to file taxes. There is often no guarantee that no mistakes will be made on your return if you choose this route.

Get them done yourself:

-Yeah that sounds like fun doesn’t it? It can be a nightmare trying to figure out what papers you need to file to do your taxes properly.

Use income tax preparation software:

-You would still be filing out things yourself just with a little extra help.

Most all tax preparation software is in a question and answer format, which allows the software to be able to tell which files you are going to need. Many software programs look for mistakes and inform you of them so that they can be corrected. Using tax preparation software is a relatively lox cost option when you what to file your taxes.
